Diabesity-Treating Symptoms Rather than Causes

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the rates of type 2 diabetes have tripled in the last 30 years.1 This is due largely to the global epidemic of obesity, a major risk factor for developing the disease. The association between obesity and diabetes is so strong that former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop coined the term “Diabesity.”2
